LIDL / I’m A Celebrity
Kiosk Kev’s been called many things. The strong, silent type. The stony-faced assassin. A man for whom the phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words” was coined. Nothing can break him, or so we thought…
This was honestly one of the most pleasurable shooting experienced I have ever had. Sometimes the simplest of ideas are the best: Kev doesn’t break character for anything, until faced with the deliciousness of Lidl’s festive range. It allowed us to find humour in that simplicity. The less that happened on screen, the more amusing the results. Mark, the man behind the beard, was an absolute delight. We flew him in from Australia, where we placed him in a stunningly reimagined and cinematic version of his camp from I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.
The thing I’m most proud of is that the humour works whether you are aware of who Kev is or not. He’s a character only known to fans of the show, yet people who have never seen an episode still get it immediately. Kudos, once again to an amazing team. I’d be nowhere without you. And thanks to Lidl and IAC for being such dream parteners to collaborate with.
